Where Lore Meets The Map

Transform static illustrations into interactive worlds. Place pins directly onto city buildings, hover for instant summaries, click to inspect full NPC inventories, link maps together, and draw living territory borders.

The Power of Living Pins

Place Thorin the Blacksmith on His Forge

On traditional campaign maps, you have to remember which house belongs to which NPC or flip through a 40-page PDF notes document. In Nebula Worlds, your maps are directly connected to your world database:

1. Hover for Instant Context

Hovering your cursor over Thorin's forge displays his quick card: name, title, friendly attitude, and his shop specialty ("Runic Mithral Master"). You never have to leave the map screen during conversation.

2. Click to Jump into the Codex

When your players decide to haggle or ask about his family, click the pin. It immediately opens his complete Codex profile: list of services, prices, backstory lore, combat stats, and secret DM notes.

3. Nested Floor Plans

If combat breaks out in his smithy, click the linked doorway pin to instantly transition from the city district down to his tactical battlemap with grid support.

Everything You Need in a Worldbuilding Map

Territory Drawing Tool

Draw custom polygons directly onto your map canvas. Establish kingdom borders, provincial jurisdictions, guild spheres of influence, and high-threat monster zones with customizable color fills.

Multi-Map Linking

Create hierarchical map chains: Continent → Kingdom → City → Tavern → Dungeon Cellar. Clicking transition pins effortlessly switches active maps so your players never lose orientation.

Granular DM Secrecy

Keep hidden doors, ambush sites, and buried treasure pins visible only to you. Players who join your campaign only see what you intentionally reveal, maintaining mystery and suspense.

Distance & Travel Ruler

Calibrate your map scale in miles, kilometers, or feet. Easily measure travel distances between cities to calculate travel rations, random encounter frequency, and days on the road.

Pin Layer Filtering

When your capital city has 60 pins, toggle visibility by category: show only taverns, armorers, temples, quest givers, or faction hideouts with one click.

Any Map Resolution

Upload custom battlemaps, Wonderdraft maps, Inkarnate exports, or hand-drawn dungeon sketches. Nebula's GPU-accelerated canvas ensures crisp rendering at extreme zoom levels.

Cartography Questions Answered

What image formats and sizes can I upload for my maps?

Nebula Worlds supports high-resolution PNG, JPG, and WebP images. Whether it's a 4K world map from Inkarnate or a 50x50 battlemap grid, Nebula automatically optimizes and caches the tiles for instantaneous zooming.

Can I change a pin's icon and color?

Yes. Each pin can be customized with custom icons (swords, shields, skulls, taverns, castles, portals) and curated fantasy color badges matching the entity type or faction.

Bring Your World's Geography to Life

Stop juggling scattered notes. Pin every landmark and character directly to your world map and run your campaigns with unmatched clarity.
